An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified, experienced, and energetic Supervisor to join Sea Harvest Group in Saldanha Bay on the West Coast of South Africa. This position is based in the Fresh Fish Operations Department, where the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the production plant. The role focuses on achieving maximum plant performance while ensuring that production targets are met timeously and safely, in accordance with customer expectations and quality standards.

REPORTING TO: FFO SUPERINTENDENT
PURPOSE: To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the production plant, maximizing performance while consistently meeting customer expectations, quality standards, and safety requirements.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
GUIDE, DIRECT AND OVERSEE THE TEAMS WITH OVERALL COMPANY OBJECTIVES
- Monitor and manage absenteeism, arrange and conduct absenteeism counselling's and referrals to the clinic.
- Ensure competencies of staff, plan skills development with WPT's.
- Take disciplinary action as and when required, complete incident reports and follow up on enquires.
- Counsel poor performance.
MANAGE PRODUCTION OUTPUT TO MEET DEADLINES AND QUALITY REQUIREMENTS
- Monitor yield and labour efficiency
- Produce products according to requirements
- Manage down time
- Manage FIFO and ensure traceability
- Manage line performance
- Oversee health and safety of employees.
- Ensure housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained.
- Arrange corrective training for product non-conformance.
- Monitor staff workplace hygiene.
- Produce products to specification.
- Identify and address areas for continuous improvement.
- Maintain systems and practices necessary for an effective, innovative, safe and continuous learning culture among staff.
- Manage production improvement processes.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Grade12 certificate or equivalent
- Relevent NQFNLevel 6 certificate of competency preferably
- At least 5-10years's relevant production experience.
- Knowledge of quality systems and health and safety procedures.
- Knowledge of processing and production processes.
