We are looking for an experienced Ship Superintendent to ensure that repairs and maintenance requirements of the Viking fishing fleet and associated facilities are efficiently allocated to the relevant workshops for execution to be operationally available within the required timelines.

  • Department: Engineering
  • Location: South Arm Road, V&A Waterfront

 

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Manage all engineering requirements on designated vessels
  • Manage internal workshops- and contractor's performance on designated vessels
  • Manage designated vessel drydocking, inspections and major repairs
  • Manage spare parts and technical inventory
  • Identify and manage approved upgrades and cost saving initiatives
  • Monitor vessel performance (fuel consumption, speed, effeciency)
  • Ensure compliance with maritime regulations

Required Experience & Knowledge
  • Degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering/Mechanical Engineering
  • 10-15 years post qualification applicable ship repair experience
  • Strong Knowledge of maritime regulations and vessel operations
  • Experience in ship management and technical operations
