RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE (but not limited to):
 

  • Welding and hot work as instructed by the Boilermaker Foreman. 

QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 

The following trade tested qualifications will be considered: 

  • Must be qualified with a valid trade test certificate.
  • Work experience of at least 5 years in the marine industry
  • Knowledge of metallurgy
  • Repair machinery with different welding techniques
  • Set up components for welding
  • Ability and acumen to work independently, read blueprints and understand drawings
  • Ability to take and read measurements
  • Strong welding background and knowledge of welding procedures
  • Ability to operate machinery, power tools and equipment
  • Knowledge of materials used in welding jobs and steel structures of a vessel and certain jobs
  • Good knowledge of health and safety
  • Attention to detail, good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

  • A can-do attitude
  • Be proactive and flexible, willing to work long hours
  • Good communication skills
  • Medically fit to work on board fishing vessels.
  • Sober habits and punctual and willing to work long hours
  • Clear criminal record.
