RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE (but not limited to):
- Welding and hot work as instructed by the Boilermaker Foreman.
QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
The following trade tested qualifications will be considered:
- Must be qualified with a valid trade test certificate.
- Work experience of at least 5 years in the marine industry
- Knowledge of metallurgy
- Repair machinery with different welding techniques
- Set up components for welding
- Ability and acumen to work independently, read blueprints and understand drawings
- Ability to take and read measurements
- Strong welding background and knowledge of welding procedures
- Ability to operate machinery, power tools and equipment
- Knowledge of materials used in welding jobs and steel structures of a vessel and certain jobs
- Good knowledge of health and safety
- Attention to detail, good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND REQUIREMENTS:

- A can-do attitude
- Be proactive and flexible, willing to work long hours
- Good communication skills
- Medically fit to work on board fishing vessels.
- Sober habits and punctual and willing to work long hours
- Clear criminal record.
